What is Qigong?

Qigong is a traditional Chinese mindful exercise system for cultivating the body’s vital energy, promoting health and well-being. Also known as “Chinese Yoga” and “Meditation in Motion,” Qigong consists of a series of slow and flowing movements, which gently stretch muscles, tendons and ligaments. These low impact exercises use both the mind and the breath to promote increased awareness of the mind-body-breath connection. Meditation and visualization are also an integral part of Qigong practice. Using the mind, the practitioner gathers, guides and circulates the internal energy with graceful and precise movements.

Benefits of Qigong

Practicing Qigong regularly can have many positive health benefits, such as relaxing body and mind, enhancing mental focus, improving balance and coordination and increasing energy levels; in short, this practice promotes general well-being and a peaceful mind. The slow, gentle movements of Qigong can be practiced by all age groups and can easily be adapted for the physically challenged.

Bianca’s Training and Experience

Bianca has practiced both Tai Chi and Qigong for more than 20 years, but at the present, her main focus is on practicing and teaching Qigong. In 2013, she completed the Supreme Science Level 3 Qigong Certification Program; in 2014, she completed a Qigong Healer Certification Program at the Chambers Center for Well Being, Morristown, NJ and she also holds a Healer Within Practice Leader certificate from the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. Bianca is also a Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga instructor and a Certified Healing Touch and Reiki Practitioner with a private practice in Morristown. Throughout her life journey, Bianca has practiced yoga, meditation, dance and the shamanic arts as well.

Bianca has personally benefited from her Qigong practice in a profound way. For many years, she has been challenged with Fibromyalgia. She has tried many conventional medicine therapies as well as complementary healing modalities that only brought temporary relief. However, through her Qigong practice, she noticed a decrease in pain levels and she also experienced a profound relaxation that allowed her to enter into a deep state of meditation.

Bianca practices Qigong regularly, and as a result she can live a more “normal” life. She encourages anyone, especially those who are experiencing any chronic painful condition, stress or fatigue, to give Qigong a try.
